Marathon Media International was formed in 1991 to fulfil a gap in the market for reliable repertoire for record labels specialising in low price product. The company was extremely successful, achieving its financial forecast for the first year of operation in just one month!
 

Marathon quickly became one of the leaders in the field, partially due to its representation of catalogues featuring internationally recognised artists, but also because of its pro-active policy, constantly producing new albums across all genres to provide its customers with ever-changing and updated titles.
 

Marathon has produced albums with leading names including Candi Staton, Jimmy Ruffin, Bucks Fizz, The Three Degrees, Odyssey, Dollar, The Gibson Brothers, Marmalade and many more.
 

Over the years the record industry morphed into what it is today, with records and CDs becoming less important, with digital download and streaming taking their place. Marathon continues to be very active in new media with thousands of products available digitally.

Since March 2019, the entire catalogue has been exclusively licensed to and managed by Music Manager.
